All aspects of the
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification Training Programme are
comprehensively covered by KBLT. This includes providing NPLQ
Training at various venues as well as training and moderating
trainer/assessors.
NPLQ Unit One Training
This is an essential
qualification for those working in and responsible for the safe
and effective operation of a swimming pool The course is divided
between theory, practical swimming work and practical land work
ending with a comprehensive assessment of skills by an
independent assessor. Successful candidates are awarded a
certificate which is valid for a period of 2 years.
NPLQ Unit Two Training
A one day course
designed to train key personnel in the delivery of the joint
IQL/ISRM Unit 2 part of the NPLQ. Trainer/Assessors are
registered for a two year period.
Trainer / Assessor Courses
A course leading to
(after successful moderation) the full IQL Trainer/Assessor
status for the NPLQ Award. Normally run over two weekends.
Emergency Response Award (Hotels &
Clubs)
This is an ideal ward
for operations of ‘small pools’ that fall out with the need for
permanent supervision. A range of Aquatic, First-Aid, Response
and CPR skills are within the syllabus.
Probationer Trainer / Assessor
Moderations
This is linked to the
probationary period for the IQL Trainer/Assessor. Moderations
are carried out at the home facility of each candidate
IQL Training Verifications
Organisations wishing
to have an ‘external’ verification of their trainer’s standards
can access this. Time taken is relative to the number of
registered trainer/assessors
