Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) - SQA in Scotland.
Basic Pool Water Testing Course
A
half day course designed to cover the
essentials of pollution control, chlorine and pH testing,
recording results and taking corrective action. Suitable for
anyone involved with water testing duties.
Pool Plant Operators Foundation
Module - Level 2 Qualification
This is a one day
short
course which is an introduction to the operation of pool plant
systems and in particular the testing and quality control of the
pool water. There is a mix of theory work, plant-room visits
and practical testing with analysis of the results.
Candidates
need not have any prior knowledge before undertaking this
course. Assessment is by way of a short multi-choice question
paper and water testing assignment.
Swimming Pool Plant Operator
Course - Level 3 Qualification
This 3 day course is designed
to look at the in-depth operation of the plant-room, the correct
use of pool treatment chemicals and a high emphasis is placed on
the health and safety requirements associated with the safe
operation of a facility.
Assessment is by way of a written theory test paper followed by a work
based assignment (project) to be completed for the final
marking. The course is fully recognised by the Health & Safety
Executive (H.S.E.) as being the correct qualification for staff
with plant-room responsibilities.
SPA Plant Operator Course
The Spa Plant operator
module is a course concentrating solely on the safe and
effective operation of a spa pool and plant. Candidates are
taken through the syllabus by a series of practical
demonstrations/ visits and theory work. The course concludes
with a short written test on underpinning knowledge.
